Life Coaching Articles
November 2005

Radio, Television, Newspapers and Magazines.

As many of you know, I hosted a call-in talk radio show in Atlanta Georgia for about a year. The show was called Life Coach Radio. I often had fellow coaches call in and be a guest. I had a wide range of callers. I also write a weekly column on Life Coaching as well as a monthly article. I even assisted in the casting of a TV pilot featuring a Life Coach.

So I am familiar with Life Coaching in the media. I am often asked by fellow coaches about starting a radio show, maybe even a television show like "Starting Over." One question that keeps coming up is what do I think the future holds for coaching in the media.

This is a tough question, because I believe Ann Landers and Dear Abby with their daily column were Life Coaches. Many coaches who subscribe to the ICF rules and regulations, would disagree. Why, because these wonderful ladies gave advice and according to the ICF, you let the client figure it out for themselves.

So I believe you will see weekly and monthly columns on Life Coaching for years to come. As for radio, I believe you will see more and more radio shows like the one I hosted, as long as the coaches believe they can give advice.

Television, that is a little more tricky. Most people think about Dr. Phil. This is not your typical coach, he goes to the extreme to make for good television. I do believe there is room for a Life Coach who could interview famous individuals in a talk show type setting. There must be over 100 self-help authors who would just love to be interviewed.

Now the big question, when will Life Coaching make it to the big screen. I am actually working on a script right now that would involve a Life Coach. Since I am not a full time screenwriter nor do I plan to be, I am sure my story will float around Hollywood for quite some time, but maybe, just maybe, a producer will realize it is time to do a big screen production on a Life Coach.
