Time To Set New Years Resolutions

As the year comes to a close, the time for Life Coaching comes alive. What a better time to focus on goals than during the new year. Most people choose dieting, stop smoking or less stress for their new years resolutions. By January 10th, most forget their commitment. Why?

I would say it is a combination of motivation and accountability. That is what a coach does best. First we help clients set priorities, decide for themselves what is really important to them. Then we help them design an action plan. In this case, we would help the client not only decide that losing weight is the goal, but we would help the client design a plan to lose the weight. Maybe more exercise, maybe eating less or maybe both.

Then we motivate. I can't say this enough, unless the client wants to lose weight, he or she won't. So you need to make sure the client is ready to lose the weight. Then focus on motivation. You can't overly motivate. Motivation will get the client interested.

The final duty of the coach is accountability. If no one is watching, he or she will not stay on the diet and cheat. Why, because no one is there watching them. So the best answer is to set your new years resolutions and then contact a coach who can help you reach your goals.

If you are having trouble reaching a goal, please call me, I will personally help you locate a Life Coach who can help.

Sincerely,

Jeff
