This
is probably the fastest growing segment of coaching. Years ago business
owners hired a consultant. They would come into your business like
they had all the answers. We would laugh and call them "the answer
man". As years went by business owners realized that they did not need
someone coming into their business, telling them how to run their business.
Business
coaches use the basic coaching principles and apply them to businesses
and their owners. Business coaches work with a business owner or someone
thinking about starting a business to help them plan for the future,
come up with new marketing plans, motivational plans for their employees,
better operational plans for the business. They even work with owners
who are thinking of selling their business.
Although
Life Coach College was designed to teach Life Coaching, the basic principles
in Life Coaching are used in Business Coaching. Registered Coach.com
even has a listing for Business Coaches. If you have business experience,
especially small business experience, this might be a good choice
for your coaching practice. Business Coaches usually charge more per
hour or month than a Life Coach.
If
you are thinking of becoming a coach and would like to include Business
Coaching in your practice, that is possible. I know many Life and Business
Coaches. They go hand in hand so the two practices work well together.
